AhlulBayt News Agency: Iran’s Parliament Speaker Mohammad-Baqer Qalibaf has accused foreign adversaries of attempting to fracture national unity through the spread of disinformation and psychological warfare.
Speaking during a parliamentary session on Sunday, Qalibaf criticized former U.S. President Donald Trump for what he described as deliberate attempts to instill fear and despair among Iranians. “Every statement Trump makes,” he argued, “either serves as part of a broader campaign to disrupt the calculations of Iranian officials or is intended to draw attention through baseless rhetoric.”
According to IRNA, he highlighted the unresolved question of why Washington initiated military aggression against Iran just as diplomatic negotiations were about to begin, framing the war as both illogical and provocative.
Despite ongoing efforts to destabilize the country, Qalibaf emphasized that the Iranian people remain united and will continue to stand firm against foreign plots.
He also commended what he described as a “historic turnout” at the funeral procession in Tehran for 60 victims of the recent war, portraying it as a symbol of the nation’s enduring solidarity and resilience.
According to official reports, the 12-day conflict—launched by Israel on June 13 ahead of scheduled nuclear talks—resulted in the deaths of over 600 Iranians. The United States joined the hostilities on June 22 by striking Iran’s nuclear facilities in Fordow, Isfahan, and Natanz.
In retaliation, Iran’s Armed Forces carried out significant strikes on strategic sites within Israeli-occupied territories, causing extensive damage. A ceasefire was declared on June 24, bringing the intense period of conflict to a halt.
